This season arrives with a breath of crisp wind, whispering it is finally time to pull on your softest, oversized sweaters and get cozy. The heat has finally broken and pumpkin flavored everything begins.

There is a sacred magic in the air as the very first leaves break free, twirling down to carpet the earth.

They leave a carpet of red, yellow and orange rings under the trees and when it dries we are left with a most satisfying, paper-crackle crunch underfoot.

Long ago, our ancestors celebrated this exact cosmic pause with feasts and celebrations, lighting great bonfires to thank the Earth for its bounty before the sun went to sleep for winter.

This is my absolute favorite season to harvest in.

The wood-land floor becomes a treasure hunt as the acorns begin to drop and boy do I have fun gathering those acorn caps. There are eight different acorn varieties that I hunt for to use in my creations and
I am thrilled when I discover a new type of acorn.

Once harvested, I clean the acorns, heat cure them, and then transform them into everything from rustic baskets and cozy candle bases to tiny caps for forest friends.

During this time, I love gathering wild, twisting vines and weaving them into unique wreaths, keeping their curly bits and playful tendrils.

These are the tiny details that give each piece a truly whimsical, fairy-tale vibe.
